MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders mean serious business in the transfer market in readiness for the 2018/19 season.

The ‘Black Bull’ is set to be re-united with its former players in Matsapha United’s quartet of Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze, Jimmoh Moses, Vusumuzi Zungu and Khanyakwezwe Shabalala.

The duo of Gamedze and Moses started training with the black and white outfit in Ezulwini yesterday.
Highlanders resumed their pre-season training yesterday, with a month away from the new season kick-off.
A source close to the matter confirmed yesterday that the players will soon be signing on the dotted line, as agreements between the two teams have been reached.

The duo of South Africa’s Zungu and former Moneni Pirates goalkeeper Shabalala are expected to start training before the end of this week.
“The players have also shown interest in joining Highlanders and it’s almost a done deal. Zungu is currently in South Africa and he is expected to join Highlanders at training upon his return from the break,” said the source.

The trio of ‘Sawa’ Gamedze, Zungu and Jimmoh all joined Matsapha United from Highlanders in the 2014/ 15 season.
Highlanders Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini confirmed that they had started training, but he was not aware of the players joining the team as he did not attend their training session yesterday afternoon.

Luck

“It is the time of the season when players try their luck with other teams, and there is no player whom we have signed at Highlanders, as we’ve just resumed our pre-season training,” he said. Dlamini is also a former Matsapha United CEO.
“It is true that the team will be looking at bolstering the squad before the start of the season and that is what all teams do at this time of the year,” he said.
