MBABANE – The late Phillip ‘Big Daddy’ Dlamini is seemingly not resting in peace.

This follows an alleged unfulfilled promise by the Football Association of Eswatini to assist the family by also providing a beast (cow) to be slaughtered for the funeral back in March.
However, this allegedly never came to fruition despite an assurance it would come all sliced.

“We can’t say much about the monies but we also read in Times SUNDAY that Langwenya’s family got E20 000. We can’t respond to that but yes, the cow was promised but its best to ask the FA,” confirmed a family member, on condition of anonymity, when contacted by this newspaper. Dlamini’s wife, Zodwa confirmed the matter when reached.

“Since I was not involved a lot, the Dlamini family or the FA can give a better view of the matter you are asking about. And since you have asked about it, I will also speak to the FA about it but we’d expect either the cow or money as it had already been offered despite that we also had one,” she said while also noting that the late Mangaliso Langwenya, who was buried over the weekend, had his family reportedly  receive E20 000 gesture.

It was established that Dlamini’s family had a close friend named Timothy Mkhatshwa and a certain Make Nkambule who dealt with the FA on this beast issue. “Only the FA can assist you on what happened to that cow because we were told it was already available at Nkwene,” said Dlamini’s wife. Also, the Dlamini family, it can be confirmed, tried to follow up on the matter with the FA head honcho, Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, before giving up as nothing was forthcoming despite the family representative, Mkhatshwa, trying to get to the bottom of it.
