MANZINI – Khanyisile Primary School (KPS) emerged as the champions of the Swaziland Building Society (SBS) mini-festival tournament staged yesterday.

The champions hosted the tournament at their tennis courts in Manzini, where their youngsters outfoxed four other schools to finish top. The other who attended are Annadale Primary, Mhlume Primary, Sifundzani and Living Waters Primary School. Swaziland National Tennis Association (SNTA)’s president Maxwell Jele said the event was financed through part of the E120 000 sponsorship from Swaziland Building Society, for the 2018-2019 financial year. He thanked Khanyisile Primary School for being the hosts for the second year running.

“The mini tennis format is a fun and interactive approach towards tennis development, and is used for talent identification. We saw future champions in yesterday’s tournament and are determined as the SNTA to assist in channelling their skills towards the improvement of the game,” he said. SNTA’s Vice President Louis Nxumalo, who represented the president at the event, said this was the first of two mini-festivals planned for this year.

“We congratulate Khanyisile Primary for being champions, and thank the other schools for their participation. We look forward to the second mini-festival which will indeed be bigger and better,” he said.
KPS won the tournament by one point ahead of second placed Annadale Primary School.
