MBABANE - The race for championship in the Lubombo Southern Zone League is surely going down to the wire.

This is after former Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League side, Crookes United have claimed the top spot after beating Phafeni FC 2-0 in the past weekend fixture.

Usuthu Liverpool, who were held to a 2-all draw against Matata F.C were pushed to second, thus making the title race very interesting going to the last games.

At 63 points, Crookes are leading the pack separated by two points with unbeaten Liverpool, who have 61 points.
Surely the football followers will be treated to razzmatazz in the last games as Crookes United will seek to consolidate their top spot and win the championship, while Liverpool will also go for the maximum points and pray that their fellow title contenders crumble.

And of course, with the prospects of promotion to the Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League and further cashing out in the winner’s prize at stake, both sides are undoubtedly geared for this eagerly anticipated photo finish. As the popular English adage goes; ‘ It is not over until the fat lady sings,’ your guess is as good as mine if Crookes or Liverpool will gain promotion in the football third tie.
