The race attracted 1601 runners, not only from South Africa, but across the globe. Some of the participants were from Italy, Dubai, USA, India, Nigeria and Swaziland just to mention a few.

The Mbabane parkrun had its fair share in as far as tourists attraction is concerned as in the past 54 editions, it has received visitors from the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, South Africa and Ghana, to mention a few.

Representing the Mbabane parkrun were Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force’s (USDF) Nkululeko Gama, Swazi Slojos trio Sifiso Ngcobo, Siyabonga Sihlongonyane and Gugu Mthembu. Also joining them was Mduduzi Dlamini, Sierra du Pont and Sebbie du Pont.
According to the team leader, Sebbie, the team which was supposed to run only one race last Saturday, was invited to another race the following day.

“They wanted to invite the team to another race which is referred as the trail run. They were supposed to spend one more night in Durban, unfortunately, the invite was cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. However, not all is lost because the North Beach parkrun organisers have also invited us for another race in one of their other parkruns situated just near North Beach,” Du Pont said.
