MALKERNS – Despite local cyclist Thulani Gule’s tough competition to South Africa’s Gerrit Withaar, the latter was the eventual winner.

This was during the second edition of the Logico Swazi Family Mountain Bike Cycle Festival  held at Malkerns Country Club yesterday.
The visiting cyclist stormed into the finish line in 3:18:30 hours while Adventure Sports’ Thulani Gule came close on 3:26:20 hours. The duo was level after the 60km but the South African had a good finish-up in the last 15km of the main race which was 75km.

Coming third was 21-year-old Sifiso Mhlanga on 3:50:00 hours while William Kelly came fourth on 3:56:00 hours with Collin Lovely completing the overall top five bracket on 3:58:10 hours.
