MBABANE – Giants Mbabane Swallows are already in celebratory mood ahead of their decisive MTN Premier League clash against Vovovo tomorrow.

Team General Manager Sandile Zwane implored their loyalists to come clad in the ‘Myekeleni Aphumule’ branded T-shirts in anticipation of the side’s crowning as MTN Premier League champions again.
They are worn in honour of slain team boss Victor Gamedze, who was gunned down by an unknown man at a filling station in Ezulwini on January 14 this year.

A draw will be enough for Swallows to tighten their grip on the trophy, if closest challengers, Young Buffaloes, who are four points behind, fail to beat Mbabane Highlanders at a fixture that will be played simultaneously. If Buffaloes win, Swallows will need to do likewise to be champions.

“We will be champions on Sunday (tomorrow), so the supporters should come clad in the ‘Myekeleni Aphumule’ T-shirts in honour of our chairman.
“The players will wear the same merchandise during the handover of the trophy,” declared Zwane.

Vovovo will have a big say on where the MTN Premier League title is headed during the game set for Somhlolo National Stadium at 3pm.
A defeat of Swallows and victory by the security forces ensemble will keep the race on heading into the last fixture. In the reverse match, Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Sandile Hlatshwako propelled the red and white ensemble to a 2-0 win against Vovovo. A ‘trigger happy’ Buffaloes, on the other hand, thrashed Highlanders by 4-0.

In the last matches of the season, Buffaloes will face relegated Mbabane City, while Swallows have a date with Tambuti.
Meanwhile, the ‘Myekeleni Aphumule’ T-shirts are still in demand. They are retailing at E120 each. The total number of sold merchandise could not be ascertained at the time of compiling this report.
