MBABANE – Golfer and Manzini Wanderers striker Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe forms part of the golfers to represent the country in the Windhoek Lager Golf Championships billed for Windhoek, Namibia in June.

Taribo qualified yesterday during the qualifiers held at the Royal Swazi Golf Club, where he produced his aces on the day to win the ticket to Namibia in Division C. The qualifies ended yesterday, having been held on Saturday in Mbabane.
Others who form part of the four golfers are Brandon Rennie, who made it in A Division, Tata Dlamini, B Division and Phumie Zwane will be the only lady.

Swaziland Golf Union (SGU) President Albert Mhlanga said the championships will be played from June 21 to 23 at the Windhoek Country Club, Namibia.
“The qualifying tournaments for the Windhoek Lager Golf Championship were completed yesterday, the climax being an 18-hole play-off between Taribo Bhembe and Zenzi Hadebe, who were tied after four tournaments. Both players put their efforts into qualifying, however Bhembe produced his aces on the day to win the ticket to Namibia in the C Division,” he said.

The A and B Divisions were concluded at the Mbabane Open on Saturday. In the A Division, Sifiso Vilane and Brandon Rennie were tied at the top and a play-off was to be played yesterday.
Mhlanga said Sifiso Vilane conceded to Brandon Rennie, citing his unavailability at the time of the Windhoek tournament in June.
In the B Division, Tata Dlamini came from nowhere to produce his best ever performance in an Open tournament, to sweep the B Division eventually outrightly winning it.
