MBABANE – The country’s sprinter Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa will intensify his preparations for the 21st (AAC) African Athletics Championships, by spending three weeks in Germany and Switzerland.

Matsenjwa, who is fresh from the recently ended XXI Commonwealth Games IN Gold Coast, Australia has changed his focus to the African Athletics Championships billed for Lagos, Nigeria. The Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) athlete will on Saturday compete in Gaborone, Botswana in the invitational, together with Thandaza Zwane, Mcebo Mkhaliphi and Andile Lusenga.

“There are about five competitions that I will compete in before heading to Nigeria for the championships. The competitions will be held between Germany and Switzerland. I will give all my best in making sure that my performance is good in Nigeria,” he said. Matsenjwa said he would head straight to Nigeria from Germany after the training. The training programme is under the scholarships that were awarded to the athlete by the Olympic Committee.
