MBABANE – Glory, glory Manzini Wanderers!

All things good in the SwaziBank Cup have favoured them in the past week. The senior team is in the finals against Young Buffaloes after knocking out Mbabane Highlanders with a 2-0 scoreline, their ladies team is also in the semi-finals of the tournament’s Ladies Cup, initially known as the Women’s Cup the bank’s Managing Director, Zakhele Lukhele, renamed to befit the young girls playing the game. Yesterday, former ladies team player and now an official, Mafara Mkumane, who is also an ardent supporter of the club, was announced as the first prize winner in the third draw of the Prepaid Card Promotion after her name was randomly pulled out last Thursday when the third fortnight ended. She took home E1500 while coming second was another Wanderers supporter in Mandla Hlatshwako, who won E1 000.

Highlanders’ Nelisiwe Vilakati won E700 for coming third, the same prize her sister Delisile received in last draw. Lukhele presented the winners inside the bank’s auditorium before the Ladies Cup semi-finals’ draw. “I am a businesswoman, so this money could well be spent by end of the day. I run an NGO called Mafara Charity Organisation, and a company while am also an official. It feels great to win something as it shows you, have some luck in you and thanks to the bank for this promotion,” Mkumane said. It also transpired that Mkumane’s company Mayesto Investments sponsored the ladies team with a car that helps them with transport issues to and from games. Meanwhile, the team with the highest fans to have used the Prepaid Card after the fourth fortnight will walk away with E25 000. Leading by last Thursday was Mbabane Swallows, who had been out of the top three the previous fortnight, while Wanderers were second and Highlanders came third.
