MBABANE – Another man’s poison is another’s food.  Sensational Mbabane Highlanders striker Thabiso Mokenkoane trained with bitter-sworn rivals Mbabane Swallows for a week, and was let go at the beginning of the season.

The South Africa-born star joined the ‘Black Bull’ in the January transfer window period and has scored a remarkable 11 goals in all competitions so far.

“I trained with Swallows at the beginning of the season for a week but returned home in South Africa. I did not feel appreciated at Swallows but I’m now at home at Highlanders,” the game-a-goal striker said.

Mokenkoane’s record that has raised eyebrows with the jersey number 7; scoring in all seven games he has featured in since January 30, against Mbabane Midas City when he alongside Mthobisi scored a brace. In six games, he has found the brace on three occasions.

The former South Africa’s AmaTuks 27-year-old is currently the main man for Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane and his Highlanders charges. His arrival and rich vein of form has seen the capital city giants climb the MTN log ladder and has played a pivotal role in Highlanders’ reaching the SwaziBank Cup semi-finals.

The ‘Black Bull’ battles Manzini Wanderers for the Uyayifuna Na final spot on Sunday at the Somhlolo National Stadium.
“It is always about team work and dedication. As a team, we are determined to deliver the SwaziBank trophy for the fans. Management has promised us something if we win the trophy,” he said of the semi-final clash.
