MBABANE – Victory is what giants Mbabane Highlanders’ supporters have been assured of in Sunday’s crunch SwaziBank Cup quarterfinal clash against elite rookies Matsapha United.
Their Captain Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze is adamant they will ‘make their fans happiest’ at the expense of Matsapha United.

“We have won it twice before and we want this one. We actually want it more than any other player or club so our fans must come in numbers because we will make them happy. We’re going to the final,” he declared during yesterday’s kit presentation inside SwaziBank’s Auditorium.

He said each player in the club was looking forward to the match and playing in the final was their main target, which is why their supporters would be rewarded with a win to take back to their respective places of residence.
In response, his rival, Siphamandla Dlamini, who is a talented South African winger, acknowledged the draw with Highlanders was a big and tough one.

“It’s a very good draw though. I believe each and every team in last eight is tough. Highlanders a big draw for us but we’ll have to face the challenge. As a player I was born ready to face anything,” he said.
He appealed to the fans to fill the stadium as that would motivate the players to showcase the best of football as they look for the best results from the matches. In the hub derby between Manzini Wanderers and Manzini Sundowns,

Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe and Reagan Charles all declared fireworks in their game. “We appreciate the sponsorship for all these years and the new kits we’ve been given year in and year out, as they are good merchandise to also give to our fans. They really treasure it a lot. As for Sundowns, it’s a derby and we’d been hoping for them. They beat us last time in league but this is the last time they wear this kit,” Bhembe declared. He said it was all going to be fireworks.

“Taribo is my friend but this Sunday I don’t know him. They’ve not beaten us this season even in the junior ranks. The team has also been working hard with the coach who has tasted success in this tournament as I did with Moneni Pirates. In the end we play every game to win and this is one of them,” he said. He said they were not putting themselves under any pressure but they had a reputation to protect against Wanderers. These two sides will precede the match between Highlanders and Matsapha at the Somhlolo National Stadium. Wanderers play at 2pm and Highlanders at 4pm.
