BRONZE MEDALS FOR SWIMMERS IN CANA CHAMPS

MBABANE – The country’s swimmers are leaving a mark in the pool at the ongoing regional championships in Malawi.


Top swimmers Nadia Volschank and Lungelo Nxumalo bagged a total of three bronze medals in the African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone IV Invitational Championships in Lilongwe, Malawi on Thursday.


Nadia went twice to the podium to claim bronze in the 50 metres and 200 metres breaststroke in 37:29 seconds and 03:02:58 minutes, respectively.


Lungelo also ranked third in the 200m breaststroke for those who are 17 years and older. She clocked 03:20:76 minutes.
According to a correspondence copied to this publication, the swimmers were doing well in the event as they were swimming personal best times.


The rest of the swimmers representing the country at the event are Senamile Dlamini, Swakhile Dlamini, Hayley Hoy, Lauren Young, Robyn Young, Damien De Sousa, Simphiwe Dlamini, Liam Emmett and Jessica Njoroge. 

They are led by seasoned coach Chris Stapley.
Experienced swimmers from across the continent are part of the celebrated event.

They are from countries that include South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya, Seychelles, Angola, and Madagascar, to mention but a few. The curtain is expected to fall on the event today.
