MBABANE – The registered Mbabane Swallows trademark Myekeleni Aphumule, a song fans came up with in honour of their slain boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze, is set to boost the club’s coffers by E600 000.

The trademark will be that effective through the latest club’s tribute T-shirts to the late Gamedze bearing his picture in the front. It’s a round-neck T-shirt that fans can purchase for only E120 each and so far, 5 000 have been printed. At E120 each, if all 5 000 units are sold, then the club will make E600 000.

“We had a good response with the Rest in Peace VG replicas and felt we can come up with something new to also keep track of the club’s superb performance locally and outside. It is still our way to say we know you are there behind us every step of the way,” Swallows’ National Supporters Secretary Jackson Dlamini explained.

The Birds, as Swallows are also fondly known, currently have the T-shirts in white at the moment and sold in Mbabane and Manzini at Bradlows Furniture and Eyethu Motor Spares respectively.
“We are working on distributing them to all our branches through their committees and will be available on Sunday at Somhlolo when we play Leopard in the Ingwenyama Cup final,” he said. He appealed to the supporters to once again stand and be counted especially because they are expected to paint the stadium in the team’s merchandise during the Ingwenyama Cup final.
