The farewell function was attended by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’Ngcamphalala, FA Vice President Comfort Shongwe and Nkwene Member of Parliament Sikhumbuzo Dlamini who will lead the 22 member delegation to Zambia today. The team comprises 16 players, four officials and head coach Thabo’Koki’ Vilakati and General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane.

It is worth noting that they are minus two influential players in left back Sanele Mkweli and midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu who have been suspended by CAF after accumulating two yellow cards each.
The team is currently based at Riverside Motel and they will leave the country for Zambia today at noon. They will travel to South Africa then connect a flight to Zambia. The ‘Birds’ will clash horns with Zanaco at 3pm in the first leg of the CAF Champions league.

“We are happy to host Swallows here before the game against the Zambians. We have heard that the Zambians are strong but we urge Swallows to go there and beat team. Do not underestimate them or underestimate yourselves. We are very positive that you will do well since you have blessings from the chief. You will beat them and we are optimistic about positive results in Zambia,” Chief Ngcamphalala said, much to the applause of the attendants.
The chief said the reason they commissioned the team there was because of his love for the sport.

“I am a football loving person and Swallows are closer to my heart so  I thought it would be a great idea to give them a proper send-off as they are representing the country.
“In the yesteryears, warriors were commissioned by chiefs and they would go all out there and conquer other nations and we believe Umkhonto Kashaka will do likewise,” the chief added.
