CITY OFFICE MACHINES’ E35 000 FOR CHAKAZA

MBABANE – The inaugural edition of the Chakaza School Tournament has received a major boost, courtesy of City Office Machines.


The company made announcement of the partnership yesterday at their premises where the pioneer of the tournament, Samuel Mamba, was present.
They have donated E35 000 worth of material to the five participating schools. The material includes soccer balls and training branded t-shirts.


The tournament which is already underway is played in a point system format and the champion will be awarded with a full soccer kit.
The schools are Wisdom Academy, St Francis, MDS, Mbabane Central and Woodlands High School. Wisdom Academy managed to beat St Francis 1-0 while Mbabane Central licked Woodlands 3-1.
The games will continue today at Prince of Wales Sports Ground, where St Francis will clash with Woodlands at 2pm.


Representing the City Office Machines Managing Director Gavin Moir, Phumzile Gule said they were pleased to partner with the Chakaza School Tournament.


“We felt it was the right thing to do to give back to the community through this tournament. We do hope our contribution will go a long way in promoting our brand and also presenting a platform for the schools to compete for the first prize,” Gule said.
Meanwhile, Chakaza School Tournament founder, Samuel Mamba said as a former teacher he had seen challenges in the schools thus he came with the initiative to meet the schools’ needs. “We are delighted to learn that our request has finally been met. We do hope the tournament will be have more schools next year,” Mamba said.
