LOBAMBA – The country’s CAF Confederation Cup envoy, Young Buffaloes has left the country for Cape Town with heads held high.

This follows the blessings and moral support they received from the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala and FA president Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa yesterday at Technical Centre at Lobamba.

The Dominic Kunene 18-man squad left the country this morning for Johannesburg where they will catch a flight to Cape Town.
The army side will play Cape Town City at Anthlone Stadium on Tuesday in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup. Buffaloes lost 1-0 at Somhlolo National Stadium in the first leg.

Ngcamphalala stated that they strongly believe in the local side for they have proven in the first leg that they can match them pound for pound.
“The difference between the PSL and PLS is that the South Africa league has more financial muscle than our league, otherwise our standard of play is on the same level. This was evidence in the first leg where Buffaloes almost played to a draw,” Ngcamphalala said.

He further said the army side were capable of beating Cape Town City in their own back yard. He also hailed Dominic Kunene for building a champion winning team and urged management to keep the coach for a lengthy period.

“It was unfortunate that the local side lost on the day, they were just better than their opponent. Swallows have done it away from home, so it is possible for Buffaloes to beat Cape Town City in their own back yard. We want to wish you a safe journey as you travel to Cape Town,” he added.
Meanwhile, Football Association President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa shared the same sentiments.

“It is of fundamental importance that whenever you leave for a particular place, one must report so that they get blessings from the superiors. We are here to wish Young Buffaloes the best of luck as they leave for Cape Town. They must be united for a common course which is to win,” Mthethwa said.
Young Buffaloes coach Dominic Kunene said they would treble their effort when they play the Benni McCarthy-led side.
