LOG LEADERS’ WAR IN BANTU FC, SWALLOWS CAF CLASH

MBABANE – It will be the battle of log leaders when Mbabane Swallows visit Bantu FC in Lesotho for the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.


‘The Birds’ are at the summit of the MTN Premier League with 48 points after 20 matches and same applies to Bantu FC who are leading the Econet Lesotho Premier League with 33 points after 14 matches in the 13-team league.


Both teams clash in the CAF Champions League buy being virtue of being crowned champions of their domestic leagues in the 20/16/ 17 season.


Mbabane Swallows are yet to be beaten in the league while Bantu FC have suffered a defeat and draw three matches.
Both teams will clash having won their last matches played over the weekend. Mbabane Swallows brushed aside National First Division League side, Mbabane Citizens 3-0 to reach the Ingwenyama Cup finals while Bantu FC beat Liphakoe 1-0 in a premier league match on Sunday.


The first leg match is billed for Setsoto Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 3pm while the second leg is on February 21 (Wednesday) at Somhlolo National Stadium, kick-off at 4pm.


According to Lesotho Soccersector, Bantu FC enthusiastic and talented players such as Lazola Tjokotjokwane, Thapelo Mokhehle, Lundo Phungulwa, Hlompho Kalake, Tsietsi Mots’eare, to name a few, are expected to torment Mbabane Swallows and make their country proud.


‘Mercurial ball genius and influential players like Lits’epe Marabe, Maloisane Ramasimong, Lehlohonolo Fothoane, to mention just a few, are expected to add more magic and stamp their authority at the middle of the pack in order to lead the club to victory against Mbabane Swallows on Sunday,” wrote Soccersector.
