MOMOTHO, CARLOTA IN TAEKWONDO SQUAD

MANZINI – A tough-as-teak Taekwondo national team has been selected.


Fast-improving Momotho Shongwe and experienced fighter Carlota Munave are among the names approved by the technical committee ahead of at least two international assignments next month.


The Taekwondo Association will take its national team to the March African Championships and the second edition of the World Taekwondo President World Championships, Morocco. The north African nation will play host to four international events in March, the 2018 African Senior Championship, 2018 African Poomsae Championship, 2018 Para Taekwondo Championship- Africa and the 2nd WT President’s Cup, which all will be held in Agadir , Morocco from March 28 March to April 3.


The association has a budget of just over E200 000 for the trip expected to be sourced from the Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) and the Swaziland National Sports and Recreation Council (SNSRC).


“The team has been training as a group we are instilling the new rules of the game to the fighters,” said coach Mancoba Motsa.
