MAHLANYA – The Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force Wafa Wafa race is not only getting popular but it has received massive support from local companies.

Puma Energy were the main contributors as they pumped in E30 000, followed by Get Bucks with E23 100, while Hlalawati donated E15 000 towards the third edition of the annual race. Letshego also supported the race with a sum of E13 600 while Dixies International also confirmed that they will provide water tables, fruits and T-shirts.

This amounted to E171 820.
All the above mentioned companies made their presentation at Nokwane Army Barracks during the launch of the third edition of the annual race yesterday.

Other companies that pledged support although not in monetary terms, are Swaziland Royal Insurance Cooperation (SRIC) Swaziland Revenue Authority (SRA), Maqalf and Royal Science Technology Park. Puma Energy’s Patrick Simelane said they were happy to announce their continuation of their sponsorship since the inaugural edition.

“Our relationship with USDF has been fruitful, thus we will continue even this year,” Simelane said.
Get Bucks Operations Director, Hynd Shongwe also shared the same sentiments.
“We want this event to grow, thus our support. We are looking to partake in the race and give other runners a run for their money,” Shongwe said.

Meanwhile, USDF Athletics Chairman Sipho Vilakati thanked all the sponsors for the support.
