MBABANE – Former AmaZulu Player of the Year, Sibusiso Hadebe has joined Mbabane Highlanders.

The 30-year-old pint-sized player started training with the ‘Black Bull’ yesterday and coach Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane said they were working on his fitness. The pint-sized winger was Amazulu’s Best Player in 2011 after joining from Platinum Stars.

“He is here as you can see him. We will work on his fitness, but yes he is going to sign alongside Mthobisi,” Ngubane said.
He said the team will keep most of the players for continuity. CEO Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini had also confirmed Hadebe’s arrival, saying the two parties were still finalising logistics for his registration.

“I can confirm that Hadebe will start training today (yesterday), but I am worried how you got this. We need to respect the structures of the team and we promise to inform the public once everything regarding new players has been finalised,” he said.

Hadebe’s career started at Thanda Royal Zulu, before he signed for Jomo Cosmos, Platinum Stars and later Amazulu. It was at Usuthu where he made his name, winning the club’s Player of the Year Award in the 2010/11 season. At the time, he was also heavily linked to Bidvest Wits. At Highlanders he is expected to give the width they have been glaringly lacking in recent games.

The club yesterday played a practise match against Tinyosi F.C and the coach gave former Matsapha United burly forward Mthobisi Mngomezulu a run on the day.
