MATSAPHA –  Former Mbabane Highlanders Technical Director and Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) Chairman Phumuza ‘Elkatib’ Ntshangase had his sports shop raided by thugs who made away with over 50 items valued at over E100 000.

Ntshangase, a former Mbabane Highlanders wing wizard, who is now a teacher by profession, in his statements, said he discovered that his shop had been broken into in the morning while he was trying to open for the day.

“When I found the burglar door open, I assumed that employees from the Post Office had already opened as they also have keys. However, when I came closer to the door, I discovered that the door had been broken and the padlocks too.

“I could not believe it as it has never happened before. I have been at the place for years now and there had not been any attempt of housebreaking or theft. When I went inside the shop, I found it empty and everything stolen,” Ntshangase added in his statements.
The case was reported to the Matsapha police and one of the suspects, Mfanasibili Vondo Simelane (29) of Logoba, was eventually arrested by Constable Myeni of Matsapha Police Station.

Ntshangase further applauded the police for apprehending one of the suspects, alleged to have taken part in the commission of the offence.
Information gathered is that the police are still looking for other suspects who were allegedly with Simelane when he allegedly broke into the place.

Well-placed sources revealed that some of the items, although a few, had been recovered by the police.
Meanwhile, some of the stolen items included Puma, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs school bags, tracks suits and replica jerseys.
The suspects also made off with 26 pairs of All Star takkies (E15 000), seven Adidas sneakers (E4 000), Jordan sneakers (E4 000), leather jackets, make-up kits and perfumes among other items valued at E100 740.
