MBABANE – Hub giants Manzini Wanderers will remain grateful and will forever be indebted to the late Mbabane Swallows boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.

The maroon and white outfit said Gamedze was the main initiator of the Swazi Mobile sponsorship to the club and three others, Tinyosi, Madlenya and Mbabane Highlanders currently receiving financial support from the mobile network company.

Wanderers Board of Directors Chairman Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini said it is very painful that the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman met his untimely death returning from a football match here his beloved Mbabane Swallows had just booked its place in the Ingwenyama Cup semi-finals. Swallows edged Wanderers with a solitary goal on Sunday afternoon at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Gamedze family and all relevant affected stakeholders, on the passing away of Gamedze. He lived the sport in many capacities, and left a telling mark.

The entire Manzini Wanderers family (from the Board of Directors, management, current and ex-players, supporters and followers) convey their deepest sympathy and sorrow to the Gamedze family and to Mbabane Swallows Football Club, for the immeasurable loss that will be felt for many years to come,” he said.

“Wanderers shares the grief suffered by his family and Mbabane Swallows and the entire football community, and fully understands that at this moment, the only person who can heal the pain is God the Creator - to whom we encourage all the suffering to look towards for solace,” he added.
