MBABANE – Sad as it is, but things have to get rolling. In a hastily converged meeting, the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Board of Governors endorsed Mbabane City elder Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula as the acting chairman of the organisation yesterday morning.

This follows the sad news of Victor Gamedze’s passing after being killed in cold blood on Sunday evening at Ezulwini.
Magagula served as an executive member in Gamedze’s past two terms as PLS Chairman. Announcing the decision following the PLS executive joint sitting with the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) executive was football chief Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa.

“Following the PLS Board of Governors meeting earlier, Peter (Magagula) will be the acting PLS Chairman and will work closely with the Football Association,” Mthethwa announced.

Mthethwa referred to the time as a difficult one for football in the country and said they remain shell shocked. He paid tribute to the business mogul contribution to the sport development and his success with his team Mbabane Swallows which reached unprecedented heights in last year’s Total CAF Confederations Cup.

“We send our profound condolences to football fans, especially Mbabane Swallows,” a somber Mthethwa said.
Football games have been suspended indefinitely following the death of Gamedze as announced by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala.
