MBABANE – With the window period already opened, almost every team is busy on the market and Mbabane Highlanders have been reportedly the busiest of them all.

According to a reliable source, Mbabane Highlanders are looking to beef up their squad following the departure of a number of their players. Zambian striker Michael Musonda, Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze and Gabriel Goshen have all exited the club with ‘Fash’ joining Mbombela United while the duo have been released following  their inconsistent display throughout  the first round.

“Highlanders were impressed by City Warriors captain, Mathokoza Mpungose who is a central midfielder. They have held talks with the player and he could be joining Highlanders before the window period closes,” the source said.
The source further revealed that the team is looking to bring a striker and midfielder from South Africa.

When City Warriors coach, Dumisa ‘Zidane’ Ziyane was reached for comment, he confirmed that Highlanders had inquired about the player.

“Highlanders have showed interest in the player, however, he is training with us at the moment but if the talks materialise, I won’t stand in his way. He is a good player who can play in the elite league,” he said.

Meanwhile, when Mbabane Highlanders CEO Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini was reached for comment, his mobile phone rang unanswered.
