MBABANE – Green Mamba vs Young Buffaloes in the quarter- finals of the Ingwenyama Cup has all the elements of a final before a final.

The two armed forces are demonstrating a form that puts them up there with the unbeaten Mbabane Swallows who are facing a task of eliminating traditional rivals Manzini Wanderers in the other mouth-watering quarter final tie.

It is the Correctional Services side though that will go to the match with a better psychological boost having won two of their previous major knockout meetings. And on both encounters, Green Mamba went on to win the tournaments.
In March 2012, Green Mamba proved too strong for the army side, beating them 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the SwaziBank Cup which they eventually won 3-1 against a Thabo Koki Vilakati-coached Mbabane Highlanders.

Interestingly, the tie pits two underrated but experienced coaches in Caleb Ngwenya and Dominic Kunene. Both have been living under the shadow of their local peers like Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibanes and Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakatis of this world who have raked in many trophies in the past five seasons.
