MBABANE - Despite odds stacked against Manzini Wanderers, their captain Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya is adamant that they will turn the tables when they face Ingwenyama Cup defending champions Mbabane Swallows.

Maziya made these remarks ahead of their Ingwenyama Cup quarterfinal clash at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday. “Sometimes it is good when odds are against you. We know that most people, except for Manzini Wanderers loyal supporters, have written us off and we understand why. Like I said before, we are approaching this game with nothing less but our best. We really want to defy our odds,” Maziya said. The lanky player said they have been doing all the preparations to ensure they not only advance to the semi-finals, but win this trophy.

“Sunday will be a do or die for us as we will step up to play at our best. Winning this game will be a step closer to our goal of winning silverware. So there is a lot at stake for us. We will definitely leave everything on the floor to ensure that our mandate to win a trophy is fulfilled,” the captain said. Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows captain Tony Tsabedze said passing the quarter-final stage was crucial. “We know it won’t be easy against Wanderers but we have to win and focus on the next stage,” Tsabedze said.
