MBABANE – Despite being among the top 30 best players in Africa, Mbabane Swallows striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa did not make the cut for the CAF Africa’s best XI.

Ndzinisa was not included among the players that are voted for by the public to make it to the Africa’s best XI. He was up against some well-known players playing in Europe, including English Premiership League side Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah from Egypt, Senegalese Sadio Mane, Chelsea Nigerian strike Victor Moses and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon and Borussia Dortmund) among others. Ndzinisa is currently out of action due to a head injury that forced him to be out for the rest of the season. He got nominated by CAF after his sterling performance during Swallows historical appearance in the CAF Confederations Cup. Swallows for the first time reached the group stages of the tournament.

Ndzinisa was behind that success as he speared four goals past South Africa’s Platinum Stars at Somhlolo National Stadium. The voting exercise started on Christmas Eve and closes today. This time around fans are voting for the team. Voting is done via the CAF facebook page based on a 3-4-3 tactical formation. The team will be announced on Thursday during the Aiteo CAF Awards Gala in Accra, Ghana. Swallows were also nominated among the best team but they failed to make it to the top 3 together with South Africa’s Supersport United.
