MANZINI – Is reputable gaffer Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati losing the dressing room at Mbabane Swallows?

Dependable defender Mandla Palma is shunning the team ahead of the eagerly-awaited derby against Mbabane Highlanders tomorrow following an alleged bust-up with the coach. Palma did not report for training this week and did not travel with the team to Mavuso Sports Centre for the MTN Premier League showdown with Manzini Sundowns two days ago. The capital city giants won the game by a solitary goal.

Some insiders in the team, who expectedly spoke on condition of anonymity, said they last saw the player after the 2-0 win over Tambuti in an Ingwenyama Cup last 16 clash at Nsukuwansuku Stadium in Mhlume last Saturday.
When asked on the issue of the player after the Sundowns game, Vilakati was diplomatic in his response, as he stressed that he only worked with dedicated players.

“I’m fielding 11 dedicated players –only those who want to play for the team.
“Here at Swallows, we don’t go around begging players. That is not our plan,” said Vilakati.

The player preferred not to shed light on the issue, referring all comments to the coach.
Team General Manager Sandile Zwane said he was blank about the issue of the player, saying he could only comment upon getting a report from the coach, who also plays a role of manager. He was called before and after training yesterday and he maintained the same response.
