MBABANE – After both teams were booted out of the Ingwenyama Cup 2017/18 knockout, it will be time for amends as Tambuti and Mbabane Highlanders cross swords tonight in the MTN Premier League at Mayaluka Stadium.

This is three days after they both crashed out of the knockout; Tambuti lost 2-0 to defending champions Mbabane Swallows who look set for a treble, Highlanders were shocked by First Division side Milling Hot Spurs, who used their only chance in the game and won 1-0 against the run of play.

Spurs were already giant killers as they had shocked Matsapha United in Last 32.
For the Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane-led Highlanders, the players and officials know it will not just be about bouncing back from the shock exit but revenge as well.

Tambuti are the team they failed to beat last season since the league first round.
Also, Tambuti knocked them out of the Ingwenyama Cup last season. On paper, Highlanders are the favourite team to get the maximum points but Tambuti are also not easy to beat at Mayaluka Stadium.

At least until the SwaziBank Cup 2018 starts in February; it will now be about collecting as many points for Highlanders and Tambuti to improve their log standings.
The time for that begins tonight, especially because by the turn of the year and the January window, the league will long have been decided at least at the bottom – chances are before 2018, Midas Mbabane City will already have been relegated after five second round games.
