MBABANE – Sifuna Ukudlala Tennis product Sakhile Hlophe is just in a class of his own.

This follows Hlophe brilliant display against Livilenkhosi Dlamini yesterday during the Steve Hall Development Tennis Tournament. The 12 year old might have started off on a low note in the Under 14 finals but he eventually came to the party as the game progressed, managing to beat Dlamini with an impressive score of (6,2) (6,1). The upcoming youngster said what motivated him was that he will represent the country in the International Tennis Junior Championships next month in Botswana. “On January 8 I will represent the country in an international tournament so I had to work hard to win the game. The score is not a true reflection as I had to engage my next gear to beat my opponent. At first I was making a lot of double faults and somehow this frustrated me but I managed to overcome that by ensuring that I reach for the ball with my full strength,” Hlophe said.

Meanwhile the runners-up, Livilenkhosi Dlamini said he made unforced errors. “I should say I respect Sakhile and maybe somehow I panicked as results I made unnecessary errors like hitting the net and missing the target. However all is not lost as I got experience which I believe will come handy in my next games,” Dlamini said. In other games RSSC Tennis Club’s Vusi Tsabedze emerged as the winner in the boys under 18 beating Thando Bhembe (6,4)(6,2), while Tandzile Dlamini cruised past Nombulelo Dlamini in the under 18 girls finals.
