WAY INN DRUB CORRECTIONAL SERVICES POOL CLUB 16–9

MBABANE – It was all off to a good start for Way Inn Pool Club who proved fastest and most accurate in sinking the black ball when they thrashed Correctional Services Pool Club 16-9.

This was last Saturday afternoon in Malkerns, Stairs Pool Arena. The Malkerns-based Way Inn continued from where they left off last season when they won the Western Zone League, only having lost once.

For Correctional, who were on their second game this season, there was no recovery from their opening match loss to Nicks with same score-line. As per the pre-match billing, it was like a case of jumping from the pot to the fire for Correctional coming from a loss to face a star-studded Way Inn.

In another match, Nicks from Malkerns were stunned at home by another good side, Mankayane Pool Club. It was a very close tie which had to be won in the deciding frame, the visitors winning it 13-12.

There was an upset in Matsapha at Figareido Pool Club when the home teams, Figareido and Figareido Five clashed. The latter are the smaller team while the former had all the cream of players since last season and lifted the Central Zone league title.

The minnows had no respect at all for the champions as they sailed to a comfortable 17- 8 victory, maintaining their positive start to the league as they also won their first match against Macembe 14-11.
