MBABANE – It’s a battle between Goliath and David indeed!

The mudslinging started on Monday morning and headlined the Times sports pages with Swallows, the Goliath in this case, or you can call them Van Damme as they remain unbeaten after 37 league games, renaming the elite rookies Matsapha United (David) Mzimnene River.

“They are no longer Deep Blue Ocean but Mzimnene River” were the words of reigning champions Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane and this statement should tell you of their intentions this afternoon.
They said before facing Young Buffaloes last week that they would win this league unbeaten and so far it looks bound to happen again, unless ‘Mzimnene’ proves to be still as deep as the blue ocean. Matsapha have one over Swallows but that was in the SwaziBank Cup knockout and then they played to a goalless draw in the league first round.

So, today is today! Swallows know their tender two-point lead at the summit, depending on yesterday’s result for second-placed Buffaloes as the army side could go top with a win over Vovovo, cannot be compromised if they want to win it unbeaten again.
