BASKETBALL DELEGATION FOR ZONE CHAMPIONS

MBABANE – Local basketballers will be hoping to hoist the country’s flag when they partake in the FIBA Champions in Botswana.


The team of eight were led by Swaziland National Basketball Association General Secretary, Mandla Shongwe. There are four boys and the same number of girls. The girl’s squad consist of Tiyandza Magwaza, Makin Hope, Kelly Alexander and Tentsandvoyenkhosi Nkambule.
The male squad is comprised of Themba Noumonvi, Julisa Mamba, Wakhile Mavimbela and Ephraim Kampala.


The team will be coached by Andile Thwala who doubles as a Manzini Steels and Super Ladies coach and also joining the delegation will be FIBA coordinator, Mandisa Zwane.


The team left the country yesterday for the three day tournament. The tournament will run from November 30 to December 4.
SNBA President Nhlanhla Maphanga said they were confident that the team that was selected would do the country proud.
“We are proud to take this talent to play against the best in the SADC region. We see this developing the sport even further,” Maphanga said.
