MANZINI – Zweli ‘Botsotso’ Khoza, though lamenting his Matsapha United team’s missed opportunities, still has some decency to congratulate the efficiency of his opponents Young Buffaloes.

This was after seeing his team once again going 0-2 to the very team that cost them the SwaziBank Cup in April this year. On Saturday, at the Mavsuo Sports Centre, Buffaloes beat the wasteful ‘Deep Blue Ocean’ to hold on to their unbeaten run in the league this season. “There were three or four chances we should have put away, but missed. However, credit should go to Buffaloes for their performance. In games of this nature you are bound to suffer from set pieces and that seems to be an area that we need to work on as a team,” he said. Meanwhile, Buffaloes’ Dominic Kunene insisted that the goal was still to steer clear of the relegation drop than to be talking title race.

“There are now 14 teams, and with the points we have, we are still not safe from the danger. We knew this game would be hard. Our preparations were more on speed in acceleration and execution which came in well today. We scored from a set piece and the second goal was from a quick counter, having anticipated that they will be tempted to push up for the equaliser and live themselves vulnerable at the back,” he said. The coach had a special praise for ace goalkeeper Nhlanhla Gwebu whose three daring saves kept them in the game. He said the advantage of having a top notch goalkeeper was key in games where you are being put under pressure.
