BATTLE OF NEW BROOMS IN ‘BUCS’, ’LANDERS TIE

God is not concerned much about your perfection, but He loves progression.” This is how Pastor Rick Warren remarked as he taught pastors how to excel in their ministries.

He went on to say the key virtue in excelling in one’s calling was to stay positive whatever the situation they are facing. He said; “Even under pressure…or change…or unrealistic demands, they don’t allow themselves to become negative. Complainers never excel at anything except complaining.”

The above paints a clear scenario of this afternoon’s MTN League first game opponents; Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Highlanders.
They have just parted ways with their coaches following a bumpy patch in the MTN League that seems to be degenerating into a two-horse race between leaders Mbabane Swallows and Young Buffaloes.
Pirates woke up on Monday morning to shocking news that Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini has resigned in the media. Two days later, they introduced former Manzini Sundowns mentor, Enerst Mavuso, as ‘Ace’s successor. He will be facing a Highlanders side that was ironically his last official opponents during his stint with the ‘Kappa Boys.’

It was a game that left him in pain after what he termed a controversial 0-1 loss in the league.
He might not say it, but deep down his heart, there is no doubt that he wants to even things up with them – one of the teams he has coached before.

The ‘Black Bull’ camp might be buzzing following the arrival of South African mentor Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane – a former ball juggler of note during his playing days at the defunct Durban Bush Bucks. He has come in to replace the resigned Malian gaffer, Alou Badara, who had fallen out of favour with their impatient supporters. Pirates will be Ngubane’s first game in charge, but news going on in camp paints a picture of a jovial mood at the club.
He had to deal with the players’ psychological state given the recent heavy bruises suffered against Green Mamba and Young Buffaloes. The Sundowns win could have been a boost, but it has mostly suffered from the highlighted controversy surrounding it.

There will be more than the three points at stake for both sides who seek to heal their psychological bruises with an emphatic win.
Pirates will hope flying winger Fanelo ‘Order’ Mamba regains the form that left many dazzled during the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup in August. He had faded in recent games under ‘Ace’, but his exploits in the Under-20 tour of Lesotho should be encouraging to Enerst, who has history of working with young players.
