MBABANE – Maxi Music Social Team are proving to be adventurous as they will play international games for the second time in a week.

After successfully hosting Witbank Masters at Manzini Club in the past weekend, the local side will leave for South Africa’s Mpumalanga Province to feature in an eight-team tournament at Middelburg Taaljaard Sport Ground on Saturday.  They will leave on the day of the tournament at 8am.

Maxi Music Group Administrator, Emmanuel Nxumalo, confirmed the trip, saying the continuous engagements in different games kept the yesteryears’ stars in good shape.
“Through playing social team football, the legends also get to tour different places.

“It’s also a good opportunity to market their respective organisations,” said Nxumalo.
Other teams set to feature in the tournament include that country’s RDP, Ermelo, and Witbank, to mention but a few. The games will first be played in round-robin format and the winners of the two groups will progress to the finals.

Meanwhile, in last Saturday’s games played at Manzini Club, Maxi beat Witbank Masters by 3-2, but lost 1-2 to local side, Gree.
Maxi, who are one of the oldest social teams in the country, boast well-known players in their arsenal.
