NHLANGANO – Ndoda Mthethwa was just one goal away from winning the MTN E5 000 hat-trick incentive.

He would not mind missing out really as his second half brace, adding to Sandile Gamedze opener, did not only ensure Buffaloes suffocate visiting Tambuti here but helped his side keep sight of MTN League table toppers Mbabane Swallows.

Following the week nine batch of matches, Buffaloes leapfrogged Matsapha United to second position as the intriguing league campaign entered interesting times.
Ndoda was guilty of missing a few opportunities with a curled effort from a blocked Banele Mkhabela shot missing the top corner by a whisker after 10 minutes. Sandile Gamedze opened the floodgates three minutes after the half hour mark, sending a dummy to Thobani Dlamini before slotting past Thokozani Mkhulisi with a low shot from the D-line.

Ndoda scored two in a space of 10 minutes in the last half to continue Tambuti’s assault.
Texan Phiri has had pressure pile after this showing, completely different from last Thursday’s 3-0 bashing of elite league newcomers Vovovo.
