LOBAMBA – What was supposed to be a challenging MTN League game for Mbabane Swallows against winless Mbabane Midas City ended up becoming more of a training session for the unbeaten capital city giants.
The reigning champions annihilated a hapless Midas Mbabane City at Somhlolo National Stadium. And by the first quarter of an hour, the tie was over as a contest with the scoreline reading 3-0.

City’s former striker Simanga Shongwe provided his strike partner Sandile Hlatjwako, who opened the scoring albeit off side claims.
A well crafted one-touch move between Sanele Mkhweli and Tony Tsabedze saw Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze being fouled inside the box by goalkeeper Bheka Christie as he tried to round him for goal.
The referee did not hesitate to point to the spot for Sandile Hlatjwako to score in the top corner three minutes later.

Captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze rattled home from inside the box a Simanga Shongwe inch-perfect pass to make it 3-0.
Swallows’ keeper Sandanezwe had only been tested once when he parried back into play in the 4th.
Swallows then lost winger Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko through injury as the game drew towards the half hour. He was replaced by young Richard Mccreesh.

The only positive about City at this stage was their possession play and patience even though it all ended up to nothing in the final third. It was already a done deal for Swallows who passed the ball at will and never looked threatened in this half as in the intense Matsapha United midweek clash that finished goalless. All those missed chances to beat Matsapha were used early yesterday to ensure they were back in the summit of the log standings pending today’s results for Young Buffaloes as well as Matsapha United and Green Mamba, who all made the top four ahead of these fixtures. Midfielder Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze could not be denied in the 57th as he scored into the bottom corner from an overlapping Sanele Mkhweli pass inside the box. Once again, Tony and Mkhweli combined well on the left before Pupu was picked unmarked.
