MBABANE – He always had his reservations about the Mbabane Highlanders’ leadership but when he finally burst the bubble and spoke about it, he got himself dethroned from the PRO position last Sunday.

That is the story of Paul ‘Magidzeludzakeni’ Masilela who became the first team official to be sacked this season. His sin was an audio statement he made on social network WhatsApp, in the club’s supporters’ group.

The audio clip, which we are in possession of, takes a swipe at the leadership, at least some members of it who he labels as useless along with a certain man he claims is from Malawi or Kenya. He was accused of hanging the team’s dirty linen out in the public as he also spoke of their special projects’ man from either Malawi or Kenya stating that he (Magidza) was even more convincing than him to help the club.

While contents of the audio clip cannot be repeated at this stage, especially because when Masilela was called about the clip, he also pointed out that the club’s directors, led by Zweli Jele and Musa Masuku, gave him two weeks off his position.

“They didn’t tell me I was fired but said, after I admitted to the audio clip as they played it for me and asked if I knew it, they were giving me a two-week break after which they would then get back to me. Besides, they had never given me any guidelines for my duties as PRO since appointment,” he said.

While he does not mention the people he feels cannot add any value to the club as its leaders, he still mentions those he supports, especially their vision for the club.
