MBABANE – Despite the poor start to the season, Royal Leopard believe there is no need to press the panic button.

The police ensemble has recorded the worst start in the five seasons as they are positioned 9th in the 14-team league with only eight points from six games. Their recent defeat was against Mbabane Highlanders on Wednesday night when they lost 0-1.

The 2015/ 16 champions face Manzini Sundowns tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium, kick-off 3:30pm. The club Public Relations Officer (PRO), Frank Hurube, said the league is a marathon and they believe that after the worse start, they will finish on a high note.
“For now, you not point any champions as the league is still at its early stages. It’s a bad start for us as I believe we had a good squad. The club is playing well but we are not scoring the much needed goals to win matches,” he said.

Hurube said for now there is  no need to press the panic button as he believes they will turn the corner before the first round ends. “Our game against Manzini Sundowns will be tough but we have to win that match to stand chances of finishing the first round at least within the top four. The team is working hard at training and we are adamant that positive results are on our way,” he said. The Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane-led side are trailing the log leaders, Young Buffaloes, who are at the summit with 14 points.

Leopard’s season did not start brightly as they also failed to defend the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup as they crashed to Mbabane Swallows in the finals.
