MBABANE – In a sudden twist of events, Matsapha United could find themselves having to contest Wednesday’s point gained during the barren draw against Mbabane Swallows.

The team is one of four which had their players suspended by the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) for failure to honour Sihlangu call-up.
The players are namely; Khanyakwezwe Shabalala, Sifiso Maseko from the ‘Deep Blue Ocean,’  who both featured against Mbabane Swallows at the packed to capacity Mavuso Sports Centre on Wednesday night.

According to the FA regulations on Calling Up Players for National Teams, the duo, alongside Manzini Sundowns’ Justice Figuredo and Sandile Dlamini, who played in the 1-0 win over Midas City, now face charges of misconduct.

Article 20.4 states that the action of the players falls under Misconduct offences. And one of the definitions of Misconduct under the FA statutes is ‘allowing a player under suspension to play or take part in any activities.’

The list of suspended players include Mbabane Swallows’ Felix Badenhorst, Young Buffaloes trio of; Siboniso Mamba, Sandile Gamedze and Wandile Nhleko, who missed their 1-0 victory over Vovovo F.C on Tuesday night. Badenhorst sat out the clash against Matsapha United because of the suspension from the FA.

A letter dated October 5, sent to one of the affected player’s team, states that the suspension was effective during Sihlangu’s camp that started on October 2 to 10 and it stretched to 15 days after the camp had ended.
