LOBAMBA – Green Mamba finally unleashed their deadly venom and the victims were Manzini Wanderers.

It was a performance worth more than the precious three points at stake for a team that has been wallowing in the lower part of the MTN League log table, following a below par start to the season. Coach Harris ‘Madze’ Bulunga said he was not shocked by their resounding victory over the hardworking ‘Weslians,’ because his team even in the previous games that they have lost, had played well, but only had difficulty putting the ball in the net.
Yesterday, they eventually did. Not once, but five times inside 90 minutes of play. Even when Coach Nyanga Hlophe disowned his team after a shambolic showing, no one could fault him, after losing to a team that played so well.
Wanderers scored first , seven minutes into the tie through back again forward Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe who smashed home a half chance from a Sicelo ‘Junior’ Simelane lofted cross, to give his team the lead.

The goal did not change the complexion of the tie as the Correctional Services side showed great incisiveness going forward, with Njabulo Tfwala, Musa Dlamini, Banele Mdluli and Mpendulo Mamba stretching the opposition with probing runs.
Even after losing skipper Siyabonga ‘Msholozi’ Mdluli 21 minutes into the game, there was no reason for them to press the panic buttons, as it was a matter of time before they seized control of the game. Man of the Match and two goal hero Banele Mdluli was the only player who came close to winning the E10 000 hat-trick incentive in yesterday’s triple header.
But when his team drew level, it was Musa Dlamini who sent a cross into a clustered six yards box, that was allowed to reach an unmarked former Malanti Chiefs winger Tebogo Motale who headed home at three yards.

With three minutes before the recess, erratic Manzini Wanderers   Banele Dlamini gifted Green Mamba a dangerous indirect free kick at the edge of the box, after spilling a harmless ball outside the box, and quickly rushed to handle it. From the resultant indirect freekick, Mxolisi Mkhontfo smashed hard and low to make the scoreline 2-1 going to the break.
It was 3-1 six minutes from the break, when Banele scored after punishing a defensive mix-up between Brian Vilane and goalkeeper Banele.

The striker completed his brace four minutes after the hour mark, with a flying shot at the edge of the 18 area box. Wanderers then moved quickly to replace their goalkeeper Banele for Romanus Igidzimba. He could do nothing to stop Musa Dlamini who was allowed to control a pass inside the box, before blasting into the far corner for what was a full-fledged rout.
The win lifted Madze’s charges to mid-table, while the defeat edged Wanderers deeper into the danger zone with four points in five games.
