ANNUAL BARBOSA CLASSIC PROVIDES PERFECT BASE

MBABANE – The now annual Barbosa Classic is the perfect base to develop bodybuilders capable of competing in international events.

This is according to bodybuilding judge Nathi Tembe. Tembe formed part of the panel of judges in Saturday’s Barbosa Classic II at Mbabane Club and was left impressed by the competition and improvement of some bodybuilders.
“It is very interesting how the competition has shot up. We had a smaller group last year but the turnout was impressive this time around. The Barbosa Classic provides the perfect base to develop bodybuilders who can compete effectively at international events,” Tembe said.

Tembe also noted the transformation of Sanele Msibi over the past year. Msibi went home with four awards on the day, named most improved and winning the Men’s Fitness, Bantamweight and Lightweight categories.
Speaking on behalf of sponsors, Nqobile Sikhondze of Aloe Vera products said though it was his first experience of such a show, but they felt partnering with the athletes will help greatly in exposing their products.
“We are all about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle,” she said.
