PIGGS PEAK – For Malanti Chiefs, losing 1-4 to Manzini Wanderers two weeks ago was a dark cloud with a silver lining.

The gold and black side, which is back in local football top table, after spending a season in the second tier stream, have gone three games unbeaten since that fateful afternoon at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Yesterday, against Manzini Sundowns, they needed an 86th strike from on form playmaker Lindokuhle Fakudze to bag the maximum points against a gallant Manzini Sundowns.

The MTN league tie was played at Killarney Stadium yesterday before a small crowd of 100 given the chilly weather that swept across the country. Charles Molopo dispatched the pint-sized attacking midfielder who obliged with a powerful ground shot that beat Lwethu in goals.

It was a second consecutive win, coming after a credible 2-all draw against Royal Leopard last week Saturday. The Pigg’s Peak-based side managed a 3-1 victory over Red Lions at Somhlolo National Stadium on Thursday where on form striker Charles Molopo scored a brace.

This was a game of two halves with the host creating numerous clear-cut opportunities in the first half but only managed to make one count.
The maverick, Charles Molopo, opened the scoreboard midway through the first half curling home a free kick from the edge of the box to beat Sundowns goalkeeper Lwethu Simelane. The visitors levelled matters just five minutes before break through Mbutfo Mthethwa.
He unleashed a powerful shot from the left flank from a Sandumuzi Zwane pass.
