LOBAMBA – Charles Molopo was the hero for Malanti Chiefs as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over winless Red Lions.

This was during the MTN League match played last night at Somhlolo National Stadium, where over 100 fans braved the chilly weather to watch the tightly contested encounter.

The game could have ended by a 1-all draw but thanks to the last two quick goals by Senzo Dlamini and Molopo in the last minutes of the match.
The win for ‘Bafana Bemboyi’ came at the right time when they needed it to boost their log standing, while for ‘Amabhubesi’ it was a rather rude welcome for new coach Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane, who has been in charge for barely three days.

There was nothing much to write home about in the first stanza as both teams failed to create clear cut chances. The game went into the breather with the sides sharing the spoils.

The second half was more eventful and the hosts finally broke the deadlock through striker Molopo, who blasted home a free kick from just outside the box in the 65 minutes.

However, the visitors levelled matters through Piana Katlego, who headed home from Mthokozisi Nkambule corner kick three minutes later.
The game looked too balanced and headed for 1-all draw but a Senzo Dlamini’s dipping header from  Siyabonga Nkambule corner, made it 2-1 with just three minutes before full-time.
