MBABANE – When Manzini Sundowns surrendered the MTN log summit on Saturday, Mbabane Swallows seized the opportunity to jump to pole position for the first time this season.

Sundowns played to a 1-all draw with rookies Matsapha United at Nhlangano’s King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, 70 kilometres away in Manzini, Swallows dug deep into their reserves of courage to see-off a spirited Manzini Wanderers. It renders tonight’s clash a top of the table sort of battle.

In all honesty, the is difference in talent and experience, between the two sides but Sundowns’ vigor that saw them record their best start into a league season in years, is shining brightly. Sandumuzi Zwane, who has grabbed the opportunity, filling the void left by Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie, who is in an ownership tug-of-war with parent club Mbabane Swallows will be key in this game. With two goals under his belt, Sandumuzi has come off age and lessening the burden on Justice Figureido.
Swallows on the hand have started slow, with lack of goals, something they are known to do best mainly because of the continued absence of injured quicksilver striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. But the defending champions have enough ammunition in attacking areas with the return of Felix Badenhorst from Congolese side AS Vita Club, Simanga Shongwe and Gomezganwe Gondwe.
