‘BULL’ FACE ‘BIRDS’ IN MTN GRAND OPENING

MBABANE – The postponement of the MTN League grand opening was a blessing in disguise for football lovers.


On the menu of the rescheduled grand opening fixture is the Mbabane derby, which is the biggest match in local football.  It will be played on October 1.The initial programme featured Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Swallows and were supposed to play at Somhlolo National Stadium this coming Sunday.


However, the two sides will now just play a ‘Super Saturday’ fixture at Mavuso Sports Centre. This is because the country‘s football ‘Mecca’ has been booked by Jehovah’s Witness for their annual convention.
Premier League of Swaziland COO Pat Vilakati, revealed that the week’s five-fixture featuring the Mbabane derby will be used for the grand opening games.


“The grand opening will include a fixture between Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows at Somhlolo Stadium next Sunday. However, we will release a fixture with venues and times regarding all the fixtures for next weekend,” Vilakati said.


 MTN Senior Manager Business Segment, Meshack Maseko said following that they have moved the grand opening to next Sunday, they will do only activations at Mavuso Sports Centre this weekend.


“This weekend we will be doing only activations at Mavuso Sports Centre. This includes early bird promotion, predict and win promotion, cellphones, airtime and MTN merchandise to be won. Fastest figures airtime give away and snappy bundles will be available at 100 per cent discount, are some other promotions that football lovers can benefit from,” Maseko said.
