MBABANE – MTN Premier League defending champions Mbabane Swallows have suffered a body blow as reigning player of the year and top goalscorer, Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, has been ruled out of action for a month.

The quicksilver striker contributed 19 goals to the ‘Beautiful Birds’ amazing 58-goal haul last season as they clinched the MTN League 2016/17 trophy with five games to spare – and unbeaten.

‘Sikhali’ picked up a head injury when he collided with a Mbabane Highlanders defender during the first semi-final of the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup on August 27 and has not been in action since then.

Swallows were the eventual champions of the Swazi Telecom Charity.
Ndzinisa has already missed two league games, the 1-all draw against Young Buffaloes and the 3-2 win over Tambuti FC last Saturday at Somhlolo National Stadium. This week, the Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati led-charges will face hub giants Manzini Wanderers without last season’s top goal-poacher.

The two sides will cross swords at Mavuso Sports Centre at 3:30pm on Saturday.
Vilakati confirmed that they will be without the player for a month.
“Look, we are preparing for life without ‘Sikhali’.

We can’t run away from the fact that he is a good player but we will have to cope without him. I am focusing on the current squad right now. Like I said, Swallows is not a one man player, we have quality and dept so we will have to use on what we have at our disposal,” Vilakati said.
