MBABANE – It is panning out to be the most complex player ownership battle in the turn of the 21st century.

There were more twist and turns in the Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie’s ownership battle following last night’s deliberations at Sigwaca House. The Football Association (FA) Players Status Committee yesterday presented the sitting with a five-year Swallows contract with ‘Dazza’ which commenced in 2013 and end next year.

The committee is chaired by top lawyer Sipho Matse and also consist of former Football Association (FA) executive member Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza and Thulani Mavuso. The speedy forward is alleged to have refuted the contract and other documents that included his loan move to Manzini Sundowns three seasons ago that he never signed. Ruling on the matter has been set for later this week to allow the player to register, at least before Friday’s registration deadline.

As for which team, it remains to be seen as the player’s ownership war of the Millennium continues unabated. Despite norm and privilege of green light even in the highest courts of the land, members of the fourth estate were not allowed inside the sitting.
The player’s representative in the matter, Zakhele Dlamini of TZD Sports Management confirmed what transpired last night.

“The committee has just produced a five-year contract from the FA files which we strongly contested as it was a copy instead of an original and had no signature of the player. The matter is still ongoing and judgement has been set for later this week,” he said.
Swallows were given until last Thursday by the committee to submit all their supporting or opposing papers for that matter.
The player reported parent club Swallows to the FA is continues his battle to be declared a free agent.
